Well it looks like things are really looking up for the BOSS program.  Within the past month or so, we have recieved about 20 new members, and we’re still growing.  So I guess there is a market for this thing after all!

You know, if I had never sent out those two e-mails to the American Council for the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind, BOSS  would not be what it is today.  It is all because of those two e-mails that were sent out that this whole thing got started in the first place.  It just goes to show that if you do even the least amount of work; you can accomplishe a lot, and all that it really took to launch this puppy was just contacting two major organizations, and sending a whole slue of e-mails to each and every one of the chapters of those organizations.  Sure it takes time to do that, but isn’t that all worth it?  Well it was for BOSS, but what about you and your business?

Can you see yourself promoting your business in much the same fassion?  Can you see yourself getting ahead of the game and coming out a winner instead of a total looser?  Can you imagine yourself becoming a part of the BOSS program and learning all this great stuff that can help you to develop the business of your dreams?

You see my friend, sending out those e-mails to those two organizations was only the start of something that ended up growing bigger and bigger, and now look where we are.  We are a full-fledged membership organization complete with a professionally designed membership site, but beyond that, we are a successful organization churning out successful marketers right and left; one member at a time.

I am pleased at what we have accomplished so far, but we have a very long way to go yet.  Myself along with Jeff and Lori have grown this organization to what it is today and because of it, people are taking recognition and joining us.  A matter of fact, many of our members have told me that this was a long time in coming.

Now I don’t know about you, but that really means a lot coming from a satisfied member.  If we can offer the blind community one thing, it would be this; total independence from having to work for somebody else.  Not that there’s anything wrong with working for somebody else, but as we all know, having your own business on the Internet means much more independence in the long run.  You’re not tied to a boss, or a hectic schedule which involves fighting public transportation, bad weather and utterly rude and abnoxious people who make you end up with a very bad day along with a very bad attitude.

Let’s face it, who wants to fight public transportation, bad weather and rude people.  Is your day really worth all that?  Is your life really worth that?  Is it really worth working for that man/woman really worth all the time and energy and rude people that you put up with just to make a few measly bucks?

Again, I am not knocking traditional work because somebody has to do it, but does it really have to be you?  Why can’t you be the acception to the rule and start something of your own?  Well if you’re blind or visually impaired and you’re reading this post; then you can through the BOSS program!  Just check us out here below.

Will BOSS be at this year’s American Council of the Blind Convention in Orlando Florida?  Who knows, but it is possible.  If you’re an ACB member, then this may be the news that you want to hear because if it all works out, Jeff and Lori, along with myself and my fiance may end up at the 2009 ACB convention in Orlando Florida promoting the BOSS program.

One of our members, Keith Bundy is going to work out the details with Lori and Jeff concerning them speaking at this year’s convention.  So what does this mean for BOSS?  Well it means a great deal because it will be our second biggest promotion.  Our first promotion was when we were getting ready to start BOSS, and I sent out e-mails to all the chapters of ACB, and NFB.

Going to this year’s convention in Orlando will be a huge milestone for the BOSS program, provided that everything works out like we want it to.  However, this is all still in the works, so we’re not sure if it is even going to happen just yet.  There are many details that must be worked out until everything is finalized.

However, in the meantime, our 2009 promotional campaign is still going on.  I plan to give each and every BOSS member a copy of our promotional CD so that they too can become a vital part of the promotion.  There’s lots of work to be done in this promotion, and that’s my job to insure that this promotional campaign goes as smooth as possible, and that our program gets the recognition that it deserves.

As Jeff and Lori do their part in promoting the BOSS program, I too will do my duties in this as well.  My job in this is to locate other organizations that cater to the blind and visually impaired.  I have crafted a basic e-mail that I use for e-mail promotion to these agencies, and it seams to work pretty well.  I have gotten a few responses from it, so I will continue to use it.

What makes this entire promotion thing so exciting is our brand new membership site which the BOSS program is so dependent upon.  Without this new site, the BOSS program as it is known today wouldn’t be in existance.  We needed this site to make the managing of the program that much easier for those who are responsible for running and managing it.

Not only that, but this new site makes the program look that much more professional than our first site did.  Our first site, though it was quite simplified, had its purpose, but it was time to advance further and use something that was more reliable and more professional.

Now when I promote the program, I am pleased to take people to our information page which is on our site.  The new site is what prompted me to create our promotional package in the first place.  So now that we have our promotional package, it can be used to spread the word about our program.  This promotional package alone makes the promotion of BOSS much easier.

Of course, there’s lots of work to be done when it comes to promoting a program such as this.  All those e-mails to send, promotional packages to send, and live promotion such as what Jeff, Lori and myself will be doing in Orlando, provided that it all works according to plan.

These are very exciting times because this is our second year this coming July.  That’s right, BOSS will be 2 years old.  HOwever, from all that we have learned, you would think that we’re actually much older than that, but it is all due to the fact that our members work so hard, and they’re focused and determined to make their successes work.

We’re moving fast and we will continue to do so so as long as there are people who are willing to take action and do what is required of them.  By going to Orlando this year, we will be able to show people just what our program is all about.  Hopefully we will get people excited and want to learn more about what we do.  Ultimately, we would love to get even more members into our program.  Isn’t that the reason why we plan to go to Orlando in the first place?

If you’re a BOSS member reading this, then picture this in your mind.  Imagine that it is Monday morning, the first day of the convention, and the general session has already begun.  You listen to a couple of speakers from other agencies and companies, and then the president of the American Council gets on the microphone and announces the next speakers, Jeff Wark, Lori Steffen and Donald Brown who are going to talk about their exciting program called the Blind Online Success System.

Ok, now imagine you sitting there in the audience and listening to what we have to tell you about our program.  You sit there on the edge of your seat, hanging on every word because you’re excited aboutt this brand new opportunity that will help the blind and visually impaired become successful business owners.  The more you hear, the more you want to join the program.

Does this sound like something that you would feel if you were there at the convention?  Well it could happen, provided that everything falls into place.  However, I can’t promise that this will happen, but since we started quite early, I feel that we stand a chance at speaking there.  I will definitely keep everyone posted as what is going on behind the scenes in the planning of this monumental event for BOSS.

Well Happy New Year to everyone reading this post today.  I sincerely hope that you have set some realistic goals for this new year, and I hope that you meet them.

Anyway, today I would like to let everyone know that we have begun our promotion in earnest!  Currently at the ttime of this writing, we’re doing promotion in two areas.  One is the Matilda Ziegler Magazine, which is a publication for the blind and visually impaired that turns 101 this year.  BOSS will be featured in the February issue.  The magazine comes in several formats such as Braille, E-mail, Podcast, 4 Track cassette, digital Braille, and on the Internet.  Click here below to visit the site of the Matilda Ziegler Magazine.

The other area of promotion is being done through a web site called, Work At Home Truth, which can be found at;

This site deals with work at home opportunities that are honest and ethical, and BOSS is located in the work at home opportunities section for disabled individuals,and underneath the section that deals with the blind and visually impaired.  If you go there, you will see BOSS on the site, along with some of our member web sites shown as examples.

This is only the beginning of  what I hope to be a very prosperous year for the BOSS program.  Prosperous in that our members make money with their businesses, an prosperous in that we gain new membership into our program.  The more that the program is promoted and the word gets out, the more members we will have, and the more successful businesses will be run and managed by blind and visually impaired people.

Let’s make 2009 our most profitable year yet!

Co-founder of the Blind Online Success System Donald Brown, Jr. lives in Lumberton, Texas. As you probably know, Huirrcane Ike struck south-eastern Texas with a vegence.

Donald rode out the strom at his parent’s place in Beaumont, Texas and is doing well. Unfortunately, there is still no power at Donald’s home and so he has been unable to return to his place yet.

Members of the BOSS program also know Donald’s fiance Zoe. She evacuated to western Texas for the storm and is also doing well. However, she lives in the same apartment complex as Donald and since there is no power there, she is staying at her dad’s house for the time being.

BOSS members can reach Donald on his cell phone if they need to talk with him. And co-founders Lori and Jeff are also available for members.

The BOSS program will be using the new membership site from now on for access to all membership recordings and other information. Since the old server has been down due to the hurricane we will use this opportunity to completely move to the new BOSS membership site.

One of our outstanding members, Keith Bundy will be representing the Blind Online Success System at the 2008 ACB convention in Kentucky.  He will be armed with our promotional package which was first used at the Southeast Texas Disability Career Fair by myself and Zoe.

If everything goes according to plan, Keith will be taking a great number of these disks with him to the convention to help spread the word about BOSS.  He told me that next year, he plans to have a booth at the convention so that he can better promote the program.

You too, can help spread the word about the Blind Online Success System by requesting a copy of our promotional CD.  You can either get the physical CD itself, or we can send you the image file which contains all the data that is on the CD to be used with your CD writing software.  There’s no limit to the number of CD’s you can request.  However, we strongly recommend that if you need a very large number of disks, that you get our image file which is compatible with most all CD burning packages and use it to burn as many copies as you need.  That way, you can avoid paying a massive amount for shipping and handling.

Our promotional CD is not copy written and you can make as many copies of it as you need for distribution purposes.  If you do not know how to use CD image files, then we can send you a single CD which you can simply make as many copies of as you need.

Here’s Donald Brown, Jr. and Zoe Hinds at the Career Fair…

May 1st, 2008 is a pivital point in the BOSS program.  Zoe and I were able to attend the Southeast Texas Disability Career fair at the Beaumont Civic Center.  The event was a huge success for BOSS, and I am going to tell you the full story here in this post

To begin with, Zoe and I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and got ready to catch the bus at 6:30.  The bus came on time and we were on our way to the Beaumont Civic Center.  Now just to back up a bit, the reason why we had to get to the civic center so early was because everybody that had a booth at the career fair was able to attend a special breakfast.  At this breakfast, we had a few guest speakers, but the presentations were very short.

After we had the breakfast, we went into the main area of the civic center and began setting up our booth.  It was at that time that I had realized that we didn’t have an extension cord, and I had asked one of the civic center employees if we could have an extension cord to use.  They managed to go and get one for us.  So we proceeded to set up our booth.

We took out the 50 CD’s that we had with the presentation on them about our program, plus the business cards, flyers and index cards for the visitors to use to give us their contact info on.

The presentation Cd that we gave away was a complete information package about the Blind Online Success System.  It contained interviews, our registration form, free screen readers and even some accessible games.  However, the main focus was the information about the program that was on the discs.

That CD was a project that took me some time to put together, but it had to be done in order to properly represent our program.  I must say that the CD project went very well and I came out with a great information product for our program that I can use at any time.  The package wasn’t career fair speciffic.  That means that I can use the CD for any promotion for our program, and I think that it will go over quite well.

I have to say, it was a great turnout!  We couldn’t have done better than we already had.  There was definitely a good response to our program, and we even had the Beaumont Enterprize newspaper come over to our booth to ask us questions.  They took down some information,so now all we need to do, is to check tomorrow’s paper to see if they had printed something about our program there.  Yes, I can honestly and faithfully say that our program is growing by leaps and bounds and the word is definitely getting out about it.  I tell you, promoting the BOSS program is a lot of work, but it is also quite rewarding, especially when you start seeing the returns from your efforts.  That’s when it really gets exciting.

Zoe honestly didn’t think that we would even have any real results, and a matter of fact, she said that it will probably be just a dog and pony show.  Boy was she proven wrong!  She was totally amazed at how successful this promotion became, and she was actually doing some speaking about the program too.

Zoe and I work together as a team on these kinds of things, and it just goes to show that when you work together, you can definitely accomplish a great deal, and that’s what we did.  We promoted BOSS.

This is truly a great time for BOSS because we’re just upgrading to our new site, and our program is starting to grow.  It is truly amazing to see that there’s really a market for our program out there, but perhaps the most exciting thing  that Zoe and I had seen all day yesterday, was the reactions of people when we told them that our program was free.  They were truly amazed that it didn’t cost anything.  They couldn’t believe that we’re offering this at no cost to them.

Also, out of Thursday’s events, I actually got a speaking engagement out of the deal too.  I am supposed to speak at a support group called Rise, which mainly consists of people with different disabilities.  Some of these people are blind, while others may have other types of disabilities.  However, I don’t think that Rise has any blind people at the moment, but the speaking engagement will be a great start in the right direction because even though those folks may not be able to join BOSS, they can at least learn how other people with visual impairments are able to run and manage their own online businesses.

Speaking at rise will also give those folks hope, which is vitally important to their daily living as independant individuals.  I want to show them that no matter what comes their way, they can succeed at whatever it is that they want to succeed at. They just have to put their mind to it and make the decision to succeed and not to let frustrations, or other people get in their way of that.

It is events like the career fair that can really bring BOSS to the forefront.  You see, events like this allow for us to expand, and also get the word out about our program, and that’s what Zoe and I had done on May 1, 2008.

Imagine being able to make money using just your phone and the internet. It is a great opportunity for blind persons who are unemployed, under-employed or are looking for work for themselves or from home.

Using teleseminars, you can hold training calls and have other people pay to attend the calls. Everything can be marketed online and after the live calls, the recorded calls can be sold also.

To do this you can use a free bridge line which allows you to call in and host the call and also allows the teleseminar attendees to use their phones to attend. There are also services that offer people the option of attending by phone or listening to a web simulcast.

BOSS member Keith Bundy has used this technique to teach a call on Braille Notes. Keith promoted his paid course by hosting free teleseminars so that people could find out more about the program while at the same time discovering what it was like to attend a teleseminar and to listen to Keith teach before they ever paid for the training.
